Join with Christian churches in Saskatoon as we seek the unity that Christ offers us through the Holy Spirit. Let us pray together as one as we anticipate the return of in-person worship and prayer.
Jesus' prayer in John chapter 17 is that his followers would be one just as He and the Father are one. Our response to this prayer today is to come together in humility to seek this unity that Christ offers through the Holy Spirit. As the body of Christ, we want to acknowledge our differences but focus our attention on Jesus who alone is able to reconcile all things. We want to praise God together, encourage each other and confess our faith in Christ as our savior.
Pentecost is the descent of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the Church, the new covenant community sustained by God's Spirit throughout time. Pentecost is a time to come together and seek the unity that Christ offers. It is our hope and prayer, our vision, that you would join us.

Please feel welcome to attend Pentecost 2020 and experience what the church can look like when it is working together in unity and peace.
We hope that this experience will prompt you to connect with a local church so that you can make an informed decision about beginning a new walk of faith with God.
If you would like to connect with a local pastor or priest during the event, they will wear either a collar or/and have credentials on them. If you want to pray/talk with someone other than a priest/pastor during the event there are accredited people wearing red vests and credentials that you are welcome to reach out to.

If you and your church would like to officially participate in Pentecost 2020 please send an email to pentecost2020vision@gmail.com.
Why? In addition to being a unifying act, your church will be listed as one of the participating churches on the Pentecost 2020 webpage.
We have tried/will try to send a mailed invitation to all churches in Saskatoon but if you haven't received one please send us an email.
As a church leader, pastor or priest you will be invited to a pre-event. More details to be posted here. At this pre-meeting we will pray for the event as well as answering questions and going through the service more in detail. If you have questions prior to this please reach out or see the FAQ on this site.
Church leaders who want to inspire and rejuvenate your congregations and staff by celebrating our diverse yet unified faith through this large, powerful experience are called to get involved.
Hymns and songs that are well established and accepted by all denominations. Ex. How Great Thou Art. The worship will be lead by an ecumenical choir and musicians from different churches in Saskatoon.

The Life of Jesus
During the service there won't be a traditional sermon or a homily. We have chosen not to invite a famous speaker. Instead, 5 events from the life of Jesus will be read from the gospels all while the different generations engage in Jesus life-giving story.
---
At the Cross
Different churches that are represented will place a wooden cube around the
cross. The significance of this is that we all bring our piece,
different as it is, broken as it may be, and ask for Jesus to fit
us into his body in a true way.

Offering
Be free to give as you feel called. There is no charge to attend the event.
